I once heard someone—possibly Brené Brown—pose a deceptively simple question to assess psychological safety: “How costly is it to be yourself at work?” Whether or not she coined it, the question holds water. It cuts straight to the heart of belonging, authenticity, and emotional wellbeing. But what if you don’t yet know what your true self looks like? What if the cost of being yourself is high because you haven’t yet discovered the essence of who you are? This is where strengths coaching becomes transformational.
